Clouds

I love clouds. Like a lot. I am even a member of the Cloud Appreciation Society. Yes, it is real. My phone and hard drive are full of thousands of cloud pics. The light, the gradients, the endlessly changing forms. Clouds are magic.

I am also obsessed with blue. Chasing blue obviously reintroduced me to Yves Klein. I know I had seen some of his work in museums when I was young. In Yves, I found a kindred spirit. We had similar ideas and were chasing blue for the same reasons. It took me a year of experimentation until I could create a blue monochrome with the power and saturation I wanted. While being able to handle a brush with oil paint and not turn to dust.

Now I have my own playground. A place where I can combine clouds, abstraction, impressionism and color fields. Where I have my own personal conversations with art history and nature.
